Jade rollers have gained popularity over the past few years from beauty influencers. However, they have been around for centuries. Jade Rollers are rooted in Chinese history, used in their beauty rituals since the 17th century. The use of stone application is even dated back to the Egyptians, used to enhance their beauty. The Jade Roller typically has two stones, one smaller then the other, connected to a comfortable handle. It is rolled along the skin, for multiple benefits. The small stone gives us the ability to work in smaller areas, such as under the eyes.
When used correctly, Jade Rollers provide, increased blood circulation, oxygenation (aiding in Acne reduction) and better product absorption. The debate between rather or not Jade rolling can provide Lymphatic Drainage is constantly argued. In my professional opinion, I believe that receiving a facial from a trained professional in Lymphatic Drainage has more long term benefits than Jade rolling, but we’ll discuss this further in another artice.
The Jade Roller can relieve facial tension, headaches, sinus pressure, and reduce under eye concerns, such as dark circles, and inflammation with long term use.
Jade Rollers can be found anywhere that skincare is sold and are easy to use!
After cleansing and toning, apply a serum to your skin. Once your serum has absorbed, grab your Jade Roller and get to rolling! A great tip for inflammed skin and under eyes is to keep your Jade Roller in your fridge! A skin fridge is perfect for this.
Using a medium to firm pressure, roll the stone in an upwards motion, away from the center of your face. I recommend to begin on your forehead and work your way down.
Don’t forget your neck and decollate!
You can Jade Roll up to three times a week, don’t forget to spray with 70% isopropyl alcohol after use to keep bacteria away!
Happy Rolling!
